Katie Elevitch (She/They) is a queer intersectional feminist, artist, musician, curator, educator, single parent, and the owner and director of 95 ½ MAIN, an Art Gallery / Creative Arts Space in Nyack, NY.

In January 2018, Elevitch was the recipient of a 2018 Rockland County DEC Arts Grant Award via NYSCA/ArtsWestchester for her Women's Storytelling Project, a multi-media year-long series of workshops, events and exhibits featuring the oral storytelling of local area women. Her work was featured locally at the May 2018 Garner Arts Center Arts Festival, and internationally at the July 2018 International AIDS Conference in Amsterdam, NL. as an invited facilitator and presenter. In January 2019 the project will be exhibited at 95 ½ MAIN Gallery and a WSP Event / Workshop will be hosted by Rockland Center for the Arts in Spring of 2019.

The techniques and healing justice work of the WSP originated in early 2017 when Elevitch organized, hosted and curated a Women's Storytelling Event called “Nevertheless, She...” in response to the election of President Trump. From this event and the overwhelming community interest, Elevitch began offering workshops for Women to share their stories and learn the art of oral storytelling in order to build community, inspire one another, and restore a sense of personal and collective empowerment and agency despite the difficult political climate. Notably, the WSP began openly and consistently inviting and welcoming transgender women to participate in workshops and public events.

Elevitch resides in Nyack, NY with her 5 year-old daughter.
